Christmas Tree Farm 2010 and 2011

When I was growing up we always had the tradition of going to get a real Christmas tree at a Christmas tree farm. My dad was a forester so of course we would get a real tree! That was my very favorite thing to do at Christmastime. Josh and his family used to go to a tree farm when he was little too. So we have definitely started the tradition with our family. We go to Gilbert's Tree Farm which is about 30 minutes from our house.

This was 2010. The girls first Christmas. This tree farm is the one my dad used to take us too. Such a great feeling to take my girls there.
This is our tree we picked out!!
It was sooooo cold that day!!
Josh and Sk.
This year the girls walked. They did NOT want to be held at all.
It's hard to get a picture with both girls, especially with our phones!!
They were having so much fun walking everywhere and picking up rocks.
This is the tree we picked this year!! We always get Virgina pines. That's what my dad always got us!
The girls brought pig 1 and bear 1 (Aleah has 2 pigs she sleeps with and Sophie has 2 bears she sleeps with). They are very much a part of our family.
They love picking up rocks. They each took one home with them. I found them in the car a few days ago!
When the man came to cut the tree down for with the chainsaw the girls didn't even cry. Then he gave us a ride back on his little four wheeler thingy. Not sure what they are called lol.
I am so glad the girls had so much fun!!
My brother, Jeremiah and his wife, Tiffany and my nephew, Seth meet us out there and they got their tree too!
The girls were worn out after all that running around.
I love this picture of Joshy and his baby girls. So sweet!! (Thanks Kk)

I am getting too excited about Christmas this year! I love all the festivities that lead up until Christmas. We still haven't taken the girls to see Santa yet but have plans to do that Monday!!! I hope they aren't scared of him!!

Thanksgiving 2011

This year we went to Josh's Mema's for Thanksgiving. The girls had been sick with a stomach virus for several days before Thanksgiving:( Luckily, by Thanksgiving they were well!!

Al and me waiting to eat!!
My sweet fam!!!
Aunt Meme and Sk!!
Al churning butter!! I have one of Sk churning butter too but I think it's on my phone!
Eating some yummy Thanksgiving food!!
We ended up letting them eat first because everything wasn't quite ready and it was nap time! At least they got to eat real food this year!
My sweetie!!
We all, at some point ,had these glasses on. I def have more pics on my phone that I need to upload.
That's the sweetest face in the world besides Al and Sk!!
I couldn't resist this pic. Sweet little smile. The little thing took her hair down...
Yum!! Mema's banana pudding!
So proud of Sk for using her spoon. Al uses hers sometimes but she knows she can get more with her hand!
See she knows how too! She just usually chooses not to.
After we ate and everyone napped we went to see Nana!!
She was so happy we all came to see her!!

This year we were missing someone very near and dear to all of our hearts, Josh's mommy. Please keep Josh and his sisters, Kelly and Meanie and their mema in your prayers this time of year especially. It's always so hard the first Thanksgiving and Christmas. Losing a parent is not easy.  It just wasn't quite the same without her but she was in Heaven enjoying an even better meal with my dad and Jesus:)

Thanksgiving 2010: The First Thanksgiving

I have not been on here in a while because I just never seem to be able to find the time these days. It makes me sad. So I am going to try and do a few posts I've been wanting to write about. Hopefully I can get a few before the girls wake up:)

I miss these days!
They would just lay down and sleep where ever you put them.
This is the day I realized how much Sk loves dogs! I want to get them one so bad!!
Al with all her big boy cousins; Salter, Jimi, Matthew and Christian!
Sk with "Aunt" Karen!
Al and Mommy!!
Nana and Sk!!
Nana and Al!!
Nana feeding Sk baby food turkey! She hated it!!
I just can't believe they have grown so much...
Al didn't like the turkey either!!
I just can't believe they eat "people" food now. This year they got to eat real turkey;)
Oh how I miss these little chubby cheeks!!
My cousins Kelly and Holly with the girls. Holly is a twin too!

I really enjoyed that stroll down memory lane. So much can change in a year especially with babies!!

Halloween 2011

This year we took the girls trick or treating for the first time!
They actually really liked it. Originally I had planned on only staying out for 30 min or less but since they were having so much fun we stayed out over an hour.
Aleah carried her pig around with her. She has been dragging it around everywhere lately.
They really liked when people would let them pick out their candy. Al got milk duds from one house and carried them around for the rest of the time.
Sophie really liked her bucket of candy. She cried when I took it away for two seconds so I could buckle her in he seat.
I was really impressed when she told people bye every time we left a house.
When we got home they played with their candy. They traded it back and forth between each other.
We let them eat a reese's cup.
 They loved it!
I am so glad they enjoyed Halloween so much.
Josh and I really had fun taking them trick or treating.
I am so proud of my babies.
I love  my precious family.
