Making Christmas Cookies

We had so much fun making cookies last week. I even got Josh involved. 

Well first, let me show you the aprons I made for the girls. I actually didn't make them I appliqued the girls names on some old aprons that were from my first serving job when I was 18. I don't know why I kept them but I am glad I did. I used scrap fabric from all the Christmas dresses I made.

 Here is Josh helping Al cut out her cookies. She used the snowman cookie cutter! She tried to eat the dough a couple of times but we stopped her.

 Sk used the gingerbread man cookie cutter. We just used our table as you can see.

 Sk picked up on cutting out cookies really quickly.

 We ended up having so much more fun than I expected. I really didn't think they would get it but they did.

 There were quite a few half snowmen and half gingerbread men but they were adorable.

 We are going to make some more on Christmas Eve for Santa Claus.

 I will make sure to get a picture of the finished product next time. I got side tracked and forgot to take one.

 They had flour all over themselves when we were finished.

This was def one of my favorite holiday festivities we've done this year.

I am so amazed at all the things the girls are doing now. They learn so quickly. Lately they have been so helpful too. They know how to put their books up on the shelf and they help me pick up their toys. 

They have been talking a lot lately. They say so many words now. Al says tree and points to the tree. She says Sophie and sissy. She says Josh ha ha! She heard me calling him one day and she copied me. My favorite thing she says is "Hi Da!" She loves her daddy. Those are just a few of the things.

Sk has been talking a lot too. She says ball or sometimes it's "ball-ba" haha! She says eye and usually points to her eye but sometimes points to her ear. Every morning I wake up to "Uh oh" in the baby monitor. That's her favorite thing to say. When I get her out of her crib in the mornings she runs to our room and peeps her head in and says "Da" looking for her daddy. 

I love watching my baby girls growing up!

December 2010: It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas Part 2

 For the past few years we have had a group of friends that we have had a Christmas party with. This year we didn't having our annual party because so many have moved too far away. It's sad really, but Al and Sk got to attend last year's party. I really missed that party this year.

 All of our sweet friends all brought the girls a present.

The girls really enjoyed the wrapping paper. I am hoping this year they will enjoy opening the presents!

 My bosses even gave the girls a gift. I thought that was very sweet of them.

 Oh the days when they had a bottle for dinner.

 This year I am not putting a single present under the tree until Christmas Eve.

 Presents wouldn't last under there for very long with the girls around.

 Santa doesn't come until Christmas Eve anyway.

   I have more coming from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day last year!! I am loving looking back on last year!!

December 2010: It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas...

I have so many pics of the girls that I don't know what to do. I am going to have quite a few posts from last year at Christmastime just because I have so many pics I want to put up!!!

 I just can't get over how much Al's hair has grown since this!!

 I miss them being little but I love them just the way they are now.

 I really just can't get over how much they have grown. Sk's hair has gotten a lot longer too!

 I was feeding them carrots and they both put their feet in their mouths in between! Ha ha!!

 Our sweet little tree! Josh and I put this tree up our first Christmas together. It was the only tree we had that year:)

I still have so much more to come from last year and this year!! I can't believe how fast this year has past!!

Christmas Tree Farm 2010 and 2011

When I was growing up we always had the tradition of going to get a real Christmas tree at a Christmas tree farm. My dad was a forester so of course we would get a real tree! That was my very favorite thing to do at Christmastime. Josh and his family used to go to a tree farm when he was little too. So we have definitely started the tradition with our family. We go to Gilbert's Tree Farm which is about 30 minutes from our house. 

This was 2010. The girls first Christmas. This tree farm is the one my dad used to take us too. Such a great feeling to take my girls there.

They were having so much fun walking everywhere and picking up rocks.

The girls brought pig 1 and bear 1 (Aleah has 2 pigs she sleeps with and Sophie has 2 bears she sleeps with). They are very much a part of our family.

They love picking up rocks. They each took one home with them. I found them in the car a few days ago!

When the man came to cut the tree down for with the chainsaw the girls didn't even cry. Then he gave us a ride back on his little four wheeler thingy. Not sure what they are called lol.

I am so glad the girls had so much fun!!

My brother, Jeremiah and his wife, Tiffany and my nephew, Seth meet us out there and they got their tree too!

I am getting too excited about Christmas this year! I love all the festivities that lead up until Christmas. We still haven't taken the girls to see Santa yet but have plans to do that Monday!!! I hope they aren't scared of him!!
